Chinese Brushwork in Calligraphy and Painting
Though an artist using a simple brush and water-based ink
creates a far different scene than considered typical by western
standards, the oriental use of empty space, reserved for the
viewers imagination to complete the scene, is very refreshing.
It sparked my interest into this subject and from there I went
to Japanese sumi-e. Thank you for your excellent book Mr. Kwo! |
